Back in 2002, a disruptive idea changed the landscape of the Mobile VAS industry in India. The short code industry was born out of a business plan written by an Indian entrepreneur who was all of 23 years old at the time. Indiatimes embraced the concept and the short code 8888 was born. After the success of the concept, the entrepreneur shifted to London and set up 3 businesses, all in the mobile industry. One was in the field of Market research, where youth market was studied in 59 countries globally.
